Half of it would go to my wife - we live right near a big fabulous outdoor shopping center giving her plenty of options to spend the
dough (most likely on a lavish new wardrobe). The rest I'd use to get the biggest and best Mac desktop system $5k could buy. I may need to borrow some of the money I already gave away, because I secretly really want one of those 30" Apple Cinema Displays.
Thanks to Vox I came across this fun mapping exercise to display the states I've visited . I thought I've traveled more the US, but it looks like I've stayed mostly along the East Coast.
Ok, kinda interesting, but I also counted states I simply passed through , en route to other destinations. So, here's a better explanation of where I've been:
- New York - where I live. Also, living in the Tri-State area (NY-NJ-PA) as well as near the other Tri-State area (NY-CT-MA), I've been to plenty of day trips in the surrounding states.
- Maine - this is where I went to college. A lot of my college buddies were from Boston (MA) and various parts of Vermont and New Hampshire, so that, plus a missed exit on I-95 and brief trip into Rhode Island, wraps up New England.
- DC - some friends and some school trips have brought me from NY to the DC area, and subsequently the states in between.
- Florida - I owe my passes through the southern east coast states all to Disney. I'm going to Myrtle Beach for vacation in July though, which should be fun and relaxing.
- Ohio - my friend Jehza went to school out here; Ali and I visited him one spring break in college.
- Mississippi - Flew down there last year for Ali's winging ceremony. He was stationed there while training to become a US Naval Aviator.
- Nevada - two trips out here to go to Las Vegas.
- California - I went to San Diego last year for a conference; besides that I've been in several airports on layover for other vacations.
- Hawaii - my family went on a cruise here in 2003.
